BLM has produced hour-long satellite broadcasts on a variety of topics. Each contains information on the topic, links for additional information, and a comprehensive educators guide.

GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

Take an electronic field trip to the crown jewel of the Rockies and enjoy lessons about Glacier National Park.

A WATER JOURNEY: THE AQUIFER VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP

Website. recommended for Grades 1-4

Learn amazing things about water on this NSES standards- basedvirtual field trip developed by the Spokane Aquifer Joint Board and Persistent VISION in Spokane, Washington. You'll learn about aquifers, how your drinking water gets to you, what people around the world have to do to get their water, and ideas for helping to protect this precious resource.

VOLCANOES

This virtual field trip contains websites that demonstrate scientific facts about the life and extinction of dinosaurs. As some of the sites are animated and interactive, they provide an excellent opportunity for the students to be active participants in their search for knowledge about dinosaurs.

TEACHING IN THE FIELD

Website recommended for Grades K-16

National Association of Geoscience Teachers is developing a collection of quality field experiences. This site showcases field trips being conducted by educators all over the country and provides insight into the design and pedagogy behind them. The intended scope of the collection is large, encompassing field trips in K12 settings; in undergraduate classes in geology, environmental science, science education, etc.; at professional development opportunities for teachers and faculty; as well as in informal education venues. YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

Website recommended for Grades 5-16

Windows Into Wonderland, from the National Park Service, which takes visitors on a series of electronic field trips (eTrips) into Yellowstone National Park. Each eTrip is equipped with curricular materials for teachers and an Ask an Expert area that provides an archive of questions and answers. Many of the 15 eTrips have won awards. eTrips are available with and without audio and video to accommodate most internet connections.
